Woooo Code Across is happening next February. We're putting together our official challenges for the event and we've got some fun ones bubbling. I want to start a conversation about one of them.
Last Code Across, we filled out the US Open Data Census something fierce. Brigade wide we did a great job. Look how many cities were added and how many datasets we determined the location and quality of. Good work!
This year, we should make use of all that open data. Lets figure out a bunch of apps and visualizations and civic activities we can build on top of each dataset.
For example, for Campaign Donations we could recommend and write up instructions on how to set up http://www.opendisclosure.io/
For, 311 data we could create a cleaned up and easily forkable version of http://codeforkansascity.github.io/kc_311dailybrief/
Get it? Not just apps though, lets include visualizations and other types of activities.
What are some other ideas for other datasets?
